Adam Warriner

Founder & Director

Adam gained his Masters in Law before beginning his journey within the non-profit sector, where he spent nearly fifteen years developing deep expertise across charity law, governance, and strategic philanthropy.

He spent nearly four years leading the team at JD Foundation, where he built and operated one of the UK's most successful corporate charitable foundations, as part of JD Group — a business with a £10B turnover operating across more than 40 countries.

His experience spans the full spectrum of foundation management — from Charity Commission compliance and governance frameworks to strategic grantmaking and stakeholder engagement. At Altrū, Adam applies this expertise to make corporate philanthropy accessible to businesses of all sizes — from the world's biggest brands to SMEs and growth-stage companies — removing the barriers that have traditionally kept foundations out of reach.

Adam founded Altrū on a simple principle: genuine social impact shouldn't require a global corporation's infrastructure. By creating the UK's first fully outsourced corporate foundation model, he's enabling businesses to build authentic community connections without the overhead, complexity, or regulatory burden.

Paul Costello - Co-Founder

Paul Costello

Co-Founder

Paul brings over 30 years of people-first business leadership to Altru, with a career built on delivering exceptional customer experience and scaling service operations across competitive, high-expectation environments. Starting in the leisure industry, he was an early innovator in making exercise accessible to new and under-served demographics — working alongside leading equipment brands Nautilus Keiser Cybex & Watson from the mid-1990s to drive meaningful change in fitness service design and delivery. Widening access to health and wellbeing proved a natural bridge into healthcare, where Paul went on to develop experience in NHS service provision and allied healthcare recruitment.

In 2013, Paul's professional instincts and personal values converged when a close friend survived a life-changing stroke. Moved to act, he founded and led a charity providing support and wellness services to people living with and affected by neurological conditions. That experience gave him first hand understanding of what genuine community impact requires: strong governance, motivated teams, and an authentic purpose.

A seasoned operator who has grown teams and developed management at every level, Paul co-founded Altru with Adam after recognising the intersection of their complementary experience. Where many businesses see CSR and charity as obligations, Paul understands them as strategic assets — tools for building lasting brand equity, aligning your people around a shared vision, and telling a story that resonates with employees, customers and communities alike. His conviction is simple: "the most durable business asset a company can build is founded on something it truly believes in."
